Please read these terms carefully. They set out the rules for using Strix, the free Discord bot and dashboard for ERLC private servers.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [Operator legal name] ("we", "us"), the operator of Strix, which includes the website, the dashboard and the Discord bot (the "Service"). By logging in, adding the bot to a server, or otherwise using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service for a community, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for that community. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country requires a higher age to use Discord. You must also comply with:

  • Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines;
  • Roblox's Terms of Use;
  • the Police Roleplay Community (PRC) API Acceptable Use Policy and any other PRC terms that apply to ERLC.

If we learn that you are not eligible, we may remove your access.

3. The Service and no warranty

The Service is free. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law.

We do not guarantee uptime, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that data from the PRC API or Discord will be complete, timely, or available. We may change, limit or discontinue any feature at any time.

4. Automated detections and moderation decisions

Incidents, plate reads, alerts, summaries and other automated outputs (including answers from the optional AI feature) are aids, not facts. They can be wrong or incomplete. Staff must review the evidence before acting on any detection, and should never punish someone on an automated result alone.

Every moderation decision, such as warnings, kicks, bans or removal from a community, is made by the community and its staff, not by us. We are not responsible for moderation decisions that communities make, and we are not a party to disputes between communities and their players or staff.

5. Community responsibilities

If you connect an ERLC server or add the bot to a Discord server, you agree that:

  • you own the ERLC server or have the authority to connect it and to authorize us to access its data through the PRC API;
  • you will tell your players and staff what data is collected and why (for example in your server rules), and you are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect it;
  • you will use the data only to moderate and manage your community, and will not use it to harass, dox, stalk, discriminate against, or contact players outside of your community's purposes;
  • you will comply with applicable laws, including privacy and child-protection laws, and respond to your members' data requests;
  • you will keep your server key and your staff's dashboard access secure, and you are responsible for actions taken through your community's access.

Communities own their data. As described in the Privacy Policy, we act as a processor for community data and the community is the controller.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • abuse, overload or disrupt the Service, or spam the Discord API, the PRC API or our endpoints;
  • scrape the Service, or access it by automated means other than the bot and dashboard as provided;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or probe the Service to attack it, bypass security, or find and exploit vulnerabilities (please report them to us instead);
  • upload or store illegal content, or use the Service to harass, threaten, dox or exploit anyone;
  • impersonate another person, community, staff member, or us, or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • use the Service in a way that breaks the law or the terms of Discord, Roblox, or PRC.

7. Third-party services

The Service depends on Discord, Roblox, the PRC API, and, if enabled, Anthropic. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them, for changes to them, or for outages or limits that affect the Service. Access to the PRC API may be withdrawn by PRC or by the server owner at any time.

8. Intellectual property

The Strix name, logo, website, and code belong to the operator and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. Communities own their data and content; you grant us the limited right to host, process and display it solely to provide the Service. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.

9. No affiliation

Strix is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Police Roleplay Community, Roblox Corporation, or Discord Inc. ERLC, Roblox and Discord are trademarks of their respective owners.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill or community standing, arising from or related to the Service, even if we were told it was possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which is zero for a free service) and USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, or any mandatory rights you have as a consumer where you live.

11. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, your moderation or other decisions, or your violation of law or of a third party's rights, including claims from players or staff of a community you manage.

12. Termination and suspension

You can stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot or logging out; the data deletion steps are in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access, to a user or a whole community, at any time and without notice if we believe these Terms were breached, the Service or others are at risk, a third-party service withdraws access, or we stop operating the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity) survive termination.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give notice in our Discord server or the dashboard. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Country/State], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled by the courts of [Country/State], except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to use the courts where you live.

15. Contact
